Although most of us take our sight for granted, diseases, accidents, infections, and age can all endanger our vision. While many diseases may have dramatic effects on ocular comfort and vision many others have no immediate effects and slowly and progressively damage the eye, sometimes years to decades before any visual symptoms will be noticed.
